Hit Singers Swing By SD for All-Star Game Concert Series
The end of baseball season was marked by the MLB All-Star Game, and this year San Diego was the lucky host. Along with the All-Star game itself, the MLB held three complimentary concerts, handing out a pair of free tickets to those lucky enough to snag them on their website. This past weekend, from Friday through Saturday evening, the Embarcadero Marina stage (which typically houses the San Diego Symphony concerts) hosted OneRepublic, Tori Kelly, and Gwen Stefani. In addition to those chart-topping stars, they were also joined onstage by some truly talented opening acts. NEEDTOBREATHE opened for OneRepublic, All Time Low for Tori Kelly, and Eve for Gwen Stefani.
Next door to the Embarcadero is the famous San Diego Convention Center, the site of the renowned San Diego International Comic-Con. While the center is still being prepped for the humongous convention to touch ground in two weeks, it played host to the MLB All-Star FanFest. Attendees could meet with players, participate in giveaways, listen to more rocking music, and so much more.
With the All-Star Game tucked away, the Embarcadero and Convention Center will be gearing up for for Comic-Con, the world’s largest pop culture convention. This means that fans can once again enjoy the symphonic sounds of scores from hit video games. The San Diego Symphony will be regaling fans at the Embarcadero stage with “The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses - Master Quest” and “Final Symphony” featuring powerful scores from Final Fantasy VI, VII and X. Grab some tickets while you still can!
